Spending the last 2 weeks with LEO Africa has been an incredible experience. Of course seeing the animals up close and spending so much time helping out in the park has been incredible, what really stole my heart were the people. LEO Africa is 100% volunteer funded. Sabrina and Koos who run the program have literally opened their home to host 10 volunteers at a time 365 days a year! Then you consider the other volunteers who spend their vacation time working hard for a good cause vs taking a relaxing trip. I decided to do this because I was feeling down about where the world is going, knowing there are people in the world like this gives me hope. Granted I also learned how complex conservation work can be. If this speaks to you at all or know someone who might be interested reach out to them!! I love Leo!!

A big thank you again for LEO Africa for a tremendous experience during my volunteering time. I didn’t know what to expect and it turned out as a true adventure and a lifetime experience.
We have seen so many different animals while helping the world to get a little better. We had several different tasks during our time at LEO, e.g. clearing the bush of alien plants, selecting pieces of glasses around the national park and of course to take a lot of pictures. We have done all of this with a lot of passion and the LEO team made sure that we always had a lot of fun doing it and that we nevertheless see a lot of animals. A big thank you to the LEO group (Koos, Sabrina, Veronica and Caroline) for being so energetic and for taking the time to answer all of our questions and explain what’s happing in the nature that we would have never seen/ realized otherwise (one example being the poo of a giraffe! Haha!). Thanks also to the other volunteers during our stay, we were an incredible group.

Beautiful animals, scenery, and people doing their bit for the future of wildlife in South Africa! Do yourself a favour, and get yourself there. I'll be back!

I signed up for LEO because I wanted to experience the bush, see all the beautiful animals and also contribute to the preservation of this unique habitat. What I got was a lifetime experience, a connection to nature as I had never experienced before. I'm very happy that I can return very soon and continue contributing to wildlife preservation and make a change in human interaction with nature.
